One of the greatest franchises in gaming is set to release a huge compilation that contains 12 of most popular games in the series history. Street Fighter 30th Anniversary collection will be available on May 24 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch.
Now I never played the original Street Fighter but I definitely played every iteration of Street Fighter II known to man. I can say that I own about seven different versions of that game across different consoles. What can I say, nostalgia is tough to shake!
Back to the SF: Anniversary Collection, besides having the original Street Fighter, it also contains every single version of Street Fighter II. Whether you want to play Champion Edition, Hyper Fighting or Turbo the choice yours. Also in this collection is Street Fighter: Alpha I-III. Finally, you also get SF III, SF III: 2nd Impact & SF III: 3rd Strike.
Capcom also announced that SF II: Hyper Fighting, Super SF II: Turbo, SF Alpha 3 & SF III: 3rd Strike will be outfitted with online play. According to their official site, you can play the CPU while you wait for new challengers online, giving you an idea of how it used to be in the arcades.
Additional features of the collection include Museum Mode where you can look at never before seen art & check out an interactive timeline of the series. Each character now has their own bio so you can really get into the lore of the game. A music player also has been included if you want to listen to that classic soundtrack.
That's not all from the collection. If you pre-order the game, you will also receive a digital copy if Ultra Street Fighter IV! It is the first time that you can own all of these games on one console so fans of the series should be pleased that all of these games can be owned on any system they want. This will be an excellent addition to any gamer's collection. See you in the virtual arcade!
