Every year, gamers everywhere look forward to the upcoming game releases. 2018 is no different. One of the most anticipated games in years is set to finally release this fall on PS4/Xbox One. The game takes us on the journey of Arthur Morgan & the Van der Linde gang. Those who love the series will remember that the Van der Linde gang was John Marston's old crew from the first Red Dead Redemption game.
While Rockstar Games has been keeping gameplay information close to the vest, they have promised that the game will be 'an epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland' further teasing fans after a series of cryptic tweets. What we do know today is that the game follows the story of the Van der Linde gang AKA Dutch's Gang & the reason why they disbanded in 1906.
If you played the first Red Game Game, you would remember the story of John Marston & how he was left for dead after a botched train robbery. Most gaming sites are speculating that train robbery will be one of the focal points in Red Dead 2. It could be possible that gamers are playing as the characters responsible for the events of the first game?
Last April, a map of the game apparently was leaked on Reddit that shows us the setting of the game. It looks like the game will crossover with the original Red Dead, taking gamers back to the Great Plains & Tall Trees areas. Also set to return is the town of Blackwater. According to the map, a new area of interest is a new settlement to the south-east called New Bordeaux which is the fictional version of New Orleans. If that name sounds familiar to you, New Bordeaux was the setting of Mafia III made by Rockstar Games subsidiary Take-Two Interactive.
With the success of Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar is expected to deliver a game that will be loved by the masses. The online experience should be on par with that of GTA. Red Dead 2 is easily one of the leading candidates for game of the year. I for one, can't wait to get back in the saddle again & see what the Wild West has to offer this time around. October 26 can't get here soon enough!
